About Abstracts

"Inspiration for an Abstract painting comes from a variety of sources, this is not always dictated by what is in front of me, sometimes the initial spark can be an intuitive thought or a reflection of my emotional response to the actual experience of painting. Diverse combinations of intense colour and the relationship between position and proportions of colour, how they juxtapose themselves one on the other, providing endless variations.

As I begin to paint the idea develops and I start to experiment with texture and technique scraping back, washing off, splattering and layering until the painting feels finished. "
